2016 Summer Camp!
Why Learn Filmmaking?
The world is evolving and so is Education today. Media education is already an established part of UK education transiting this to the next electronic era. In the UK, an initiative is underway to ensure that students are given the opportunity to gain a critical understanding of film and to enjoy the creative activity of filmmaking.
“We live in an age when to be literate means to be as familiar with images on a screen as with text on a page, and to be as confident with a camera or a keyboard as with a pen.” – Film: 21st Century Literary – A strategy for film education across the UK
Similarly here in Hong Kong, schools are increasingly incorporating the use of film in their curriculum. Whilst few schools have already established filmmaking into their curriculum, many are following suit collaborating with filmmakers to establish a film culture and to incorporate film as a median to communicate their work.
Junior Snappers has been involved in this change since 2012 and working with some school to run filmmaking camps. Our team of passionate filmmakers aims to share the technique of filmmaking with children; to give them a head start in today’s multi-media oriented society. The knowledge they acquire through filmmaking is vital to help them communicate in today’s technology education era.
